Eel Screen project - Thames Water New gauge

Provision of Working Platform & Fender Timber Installation - 2022/23 
 Supplied: All Marine plant & equipment, Bolina Boom system, tugs, barges, pontoons and, dories, safety/work boats and all related operators and staff for the construction of a new set of screen gates within a piling framework for the protection of endangered species of elver (leptocephalus) commissioned by Thames Water.
Also completed works to install the timber fender system to the piles to protect the newly installed screens. 

oRIGAMI 

Newbuild Houseboat - 2021/22 A 2 storey houseboat designed by Naval Architect Stuart Roy. Built on a pair of steel pontoon hulls that were launched independently and then bolted and welded together. The project began end of February 2021 and was completed September 2022.The home contains 3 good sized double bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, utility room and office on the ground floor. Taken upstairs by a single stringer floating staircase to complete open plan living with panoramic views of the river.

Bridge Repair and Refurbishment - 2020

Overall principal contractor lead, providing full consultancy, programme and project management. This includes pontoon design and installation, risk assessment, daily monitoring of health and safety, Beaufort wind scale management and overall resource provision. This project commenced during COVID-19 lockdown with key work status given due to the urgency for surveys and repairs to the bridges.

Thames Water requested that works on the TWB&K project be extended to incorporate the refurbishment of the outer and inner faces of the TWB&K turrets that support the 2 access bridges recently refurbished and completed by GCAM and other sub-contractors.

Works involved:

  • Construction and setting up a floating working platform
  • Construction of access scaffold system supported by floating working platform
  • Encapsulated scaffold system
  • Shot blasting, priming and repair and protective coat applications
All stability calculations supplied by Royal HaskoningDHV.

GCAM are provided all Marine plant, HVDP pontoon system, equipment, safety/work boats and all related operators and staff for the provision of a working platform for the refurbishment and repair of the footbridge to the reservoir towers, commissioned by Thames Water and overseen by Atkins Global.

J.t. Mackley - Mill lane

Viaduct Rubbish Removal - 2021 
We were sub-contracted by J.T. Mackley to provide plant equipment and labour to remove a backlog of debris, flotsam that has amassed behind the Bolina Boom system at the River Mole that passes underneath the main rail line viaduct at Mill Lane Esher. The debris where possible is to be shredded and disposed of with the remaining non – recyclable materials disposed of.

 The provision of plastic floating pontoons and related safety equipment.

TW King George - 2019
Provided floating working platform in its entirety to accommodate 25T excavator with screw pile attachment (video below) for installation of Eel Screens.

 J.T. MACKLEY - river mole

Supplied all Marine plant, equipment, tugs, barges plastic pontoons and integral cranes, dories, safety/work boats and all related operators and staff to construct and install steel frameworks to accommodate protective float system across the weir at water level.

Barhale - ham lane 

Provided floating working platform for access to underside of steel bridge for repairs and refurbishment 

bolina booms - windsor

Provided Work Barge c/w Hiab crane, pusher unit and workboat for clearing boom and heat application/ repair to riser on Pile 1 to effect straightening. Repaint affected area with corrosion resistant covering. To ensure boom operates/ rises freely on the rails.

Salvage

The process of recovering boats subject of maritime casualty (sinking/fires/hull damage). Salvage encompasses towing/pushing, re-floating a vessel. We have the plant and equipment in place which allows us to do this quickly and efficiently.
